Matt Martin, Trumpet

Matt is what you would call a late bloomer when it comes to performing in a Funk/Rock band, though his playing experience is extensive.  He got his start by subbing with The Generation Gap Band out of St. Louis and got the bulk of his experience playing with the Mid Life Crisis band out of Cape Girardeau.  He also occasionally plays with the Jerry Ford Orchestra.
Matt Martin holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree, Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance degree, and a Master's in Music Education degree all from Southeast Missouri State University. He also holds a Master's in School Administration from William Woods University. He studied trumpet with Dr. Marc Fulgham of Southeast Missouri State University, Dr. Terry Sawchuk of  University of Colorado-Boulder, and Dr. Robert Allison of Southern Illinois University -Carbondale.
Matt’s influences come from; Tom Harrell, Chet Baker, Randy Brecker, Lee Morgan, and countless other notable Jazz musicians.
